How to pack a t-shirt to save space in a travel bag

How can you pack a t-shirt to save space inside your bag? Rolling t-shirts is, in my opinion, the best way to pack it inside the bag.

There is a lot of information online about the most efficient way to pack a bag. The objective is always to get the most out of a smaller bag.

Some people say we should bundle it, some say you should fold it, and others say you should roll it.

Having tried all three methods, my preferred method is to roll my clothes.

In my opinion, not only it maximizes the space, but also makes it easy to take things out of the bag while keeping all other clothes neat and organized.

Rolling a t-shirt

The t-shirt is probably the clothing item both Men and Women take in their bags in almost all trips.

So, to share my preferred method for packing clothes, I chose to create an example for a t- shirt.

I take the 5 following steps to roll a t-shirt:

1. lay the t-shirt on a flat surface.

 2. fold a 10 centimeter horizontal line at the bottom of the t-shirt

3. divide the t-shirt into 3 vertical lines and fold the left side towards the middle, and do the same for the right side

4. roll the "rectangle"  tightly until it is inside the bottom previously folded until you get a roll.

Was it confusing?

I prepared a video to make the entire process easier to understand.

Conclusion

One of my proudest moment as a traveler, was when I was at the airport security in London, Heathrow, and I got a compliment from the person checking the contents of my bag.

"Your bag is extremely well packed sir!"

Guess, what method I was using?

That's right!

All my t-shirts properly rolled inside my bag.

It may take a little bit of extra time, when you first try it, but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy and fast. Totally worth doing!
